  • DON’T BE FOOLED PEOPLE!!!!!

We are being scammed big-time with the rise in gas prices! The conflict in Libya is being given as the reason oil prices are going up but if you look closely you’ll see that it’s simply an excuse. It’s a lie! You will not see Libya anywhere near the top on any list of US oil suppliers! This is a perfect example of disinformation. At the beginning of the conflict in Libya I heard a mainstream reporter say that Libya is only responsible for less than 2% of the world’s production of oil so this conflict should not affect oil prices. A day later I heard a different reporter say that Libya is a main exporter of oil to the US and that this conflict was going to cause a large spike in gas prices. It has also been stated that Saudi Arabia has offered to pick up the slack to cover any losses we might experience due to the unrest in the Middle East and Africa. Do your homework. Check it out for yourself if you don’t believe me. We are being lied to and taken advantage of!!!!!

This is a copy of an article posted on the US Energy Information Administration (EIA) website. This is a US Government website!!!!!

  • “This is a perfect example of disinformation.”

Been seeing a lot of those examples lately.

  • Go trade oil on the CME to understand how oil pricing works.  It’s not subject to a conspiracy.  Right now speculation has raised its price.

  • @soccerdadforlife - I can buy that.

    Definition of spec·u·la·tion

    NOUN

    1. opinion based on incomplete information: a conclusion, theory, or opinion based on incomplete facts or information

    2. reasoning based on incomplete information: reasoning based on incomplete facts or information
I stand by my point and thanks for helping me make it.

  • @AwakeandAware - Your equivocation fallacy doesn’t work, nor does your dishonesty by putting words in my mouth.  Our relationship isn’t starting off very well, despite the fact that I was leaning towards giving you the benefit of the doubt.

You can find my meaning for speculation that I used in the last comment at http://www.investopedia.com/terms/s/speculation.asp.

The big mistake that conspiracy theorists make who have spotted a real conspiracy is giving way too much credibility to the competence of the conspirators.  The Birchers were correct that the Trilateral Commission and Bilderbergers existed and had heavy overlap in membership, but they mistakenly thought that the groups had more power than they actually did.  It’s ridiculous to think that some private groups have the power to select presidents.  Influence the selection, yes.  The membership of those groups have the same internal political problems as any group.

Now, if you take a weaker position that Obama is attempting to use world problems to advance his agenda, including weaning America off gasoline by creating fear and encouraging speculation on the price of oil, I’d agree with that.

  • @soccerdadforlife -

yea, yea, yea. I know you’re talking about speculative trading but what it boils down to is the rich taking advantage of the situation so they can profit from it. That’s what all speculative trading looks like to me. Oh! and please do not assume for even a second that I have any desire for a “relationship” of any kind with you. I’ve been watching you try to argue with my husband for long enough to know that you don’t ever give anyone the benefit of the doubt. It appears to me that your job is to create doubt around the opinions and ideas of others. I see you as just another cog in the disinformation machine. I mean come on! What was all that blathering you were doing about Bilderbergers and Trilaterals? I don’t recall mentioning any such thing. How you got there from what I said, I’ll never know. It sure didn’t take you long to judge and label me did it?

  • @AwakeandAware - Oh yes, that conspiratorial, monolithic “rich” group, which includes the Koch’s and other right wingers.

Wow, get back on your meds.

  • This is more or less what I’ve been telling people around me recently. Thanks for encouraging these thoughts, despite the discouraging times.

  • @MutantChameleon - Hi! Sorry I didn’t answer this sooner. In case you haven’t noticed, I am not very consistant in my visits here.

Thank you for encouraging me and for letting me know I’m not alone in my observations.
