Unity/Oneness/Harmony/Connection
Why can’t we all just get along?
It doesn’t seem to be enough that I Love Christ and that I KNOW that Christ Loves me. By mainstream Christian standards, it isn’t enough that I live my life as He has instructed… so much so that unless people ask me what my religion is they automatically assume that I am a Christian. Even my husband still says I am. I try to make him understand that Christianity has cast me out because I find as much value and beauty in other belief systems as I do in Christ’s teachings. I have found my way to God by many different paths so I am no longer able to think that Christ is the only teacher who can lead me to God. Because Christian doctrine requires that I proclaim Christ as the only way to God I know that I am not a Christian.
Do I have to label myself ”Christian” in order to Love Christ and to allow Him to work through me?
A “to each his own” attitude would go a long way toward cultivating a more peacful world.

“Unless we know the value of other religious traditions, it is difficult to develop respect for them. Mutual respect is the foundation of genuine harmony. We should strive for a spirit of harmony, not for political or economic reasons, but rather simply because we realize the value of other traditions.” ~ Dalai Lama
“For as the body is one, and hath many members, and all the members of that one body, being many, are one body: so also is Christ. For by one Spirit are we all baptized into one body, whether we be Jews or Gentiles, whether we be bound or free; and have been all made to drink into one Spirit For the body is not one member, but many. If the foot shall say, Because l am not the hand, I am not of the body; is it therefore not of the body? And if the ear shall say, Because l am not the eye, l am not of the body; is it therefore not of the body?” (1 COR. 12-16)
“He who experiences the unity of life sees his own Self in all beings, and all beings in his own Self, and looks on everything with an impartial eye.” ~ Buddha
“Oneness of the Divine. It may be given a thousand names such as The Primary Cause / God / Energy / I. All that is created has it’s Self this Oneness.” ~ Sri Sathya Sai Baba
“Humankind has not woven the web of life. We are but one thread within it. Whatever we do to the web, we do to ourselves. All things are bound together. All things connect.” ~ Chief Seattle“All differences in this world are of degree, and not of kind, because oneness is the secret of everything.”~ Swami Vivekananda
“This overcoming of all the usual barriers between the individual and the Absolute is the great mystic achievement. In mystic states we both become one with the Absolute and we become aware of our oneness. This is the everlasting and triumphant mystical tradition, hardly altered by differences of clime or creed.” ~ William James
“A miracle is nothing more or less than this. Anyone who has come into a knowledge of his true identity, of his oneness with the all-pervading wisdom and power, this makes it possible for laws higher than the ordinary mind knows of to be revealed to him.” ~ Ralph Waldo
“The essence of all religions is One. Surrender is the main duty of everyone. Surrender means the feeling of oneness, I and God are One. Why? The reason is that the One who is present in you is present in me.” ~ Sri Sathya Sai Baba
So we, being many, are one body in Christ; and every one members one of another. (ROMANS 12:5)
“All major religious traditions carry basically the same message, that is love, compassion and forgiveness … the important thing is they all should be part of our daily lives.” ~ Dalai Lama

I know you felt abandoned by Christianity, but I also know you never felt abandoned by Christ. I know also that when you were young, you prayed for Jesus to come into your heart/soul/being, whether you consider that to be important or not, God still does.
I see the results of our faith, and know we’re being cared for. Asking in faith, believing, and knowing. I see syncronicities that are pretty amazing, when prayers begin to be answered, like today, and so many in the past. I know, as you do, we’ll be safe in any wind.
That is very true! Although Christianity has abandoned me, Christ never has! I like that. You can often word things in ways I hadn’t thought of. Of course, I do recognize the importance of my decision to invite Christ into my “life/soul/being” as a child. However, I didn’t truly understand the scope of my relationship with him or feel my Oneness with Him until He came to me in that dream on the night of my Reiki Master attunement. I was in my late 30′s by then.
