This blog is inspired by the video; “How it feels to have a stroke” featuring neuroanatomist Jill Bolte Taylor. This woman is a scientist who presents the opportunity to show scientific evidence, through her own personal experience, that we truly are ALL ONE. In a previous blog, I shared with you “The Five Steps to Inner Peace” of which the first step is asking you to embrace this idea that “WE ARE ALL ONE”.
I hope you will take the time to view her video so that you can gain understanding into the nature of brain function and that we literally have two separate brains and what their separate functions are.
I think we are all pretty much aware that we all possess two sides to our being. One we call light, the other we call shadow… one intellectual and one intuitive…. one that operates on facts about our physical reality that come to us through physical stimulation and another that operates through intuition that comes from a place beyond physical reality.
As humans, we need both sides of our brains to function in balance in order for us to live effectively in our present physical reality.
I think that most of the problems we find in our world today have developed because we have been taught to suppress and ignore the functions of our right brain and instead to rely completely on the functions of our left brains. The right brain knows that we are The Life Force Power of the Universe… that we are unavoidably connected to everything else in the universe… that there are no real boundaries between us and everything else. While our left brain, when disconnected from our right brain, can lead us to believe that we are separate and disconnected. Feeling separate and disconnected leads us to act selfishly… to put all our mental focus on our own individual needs rather than recognizing that we are better served when we work for the good of ALL.
Dr. Jill has given an excellent presentation that explains the functions of each side of our brain. Her narrative can help you to understand why it is so important for us to learn to reintegrate, exercise and build our right brain functions.
Intuition is just as important as intellect in order to live a fulfilling and balanced life that fosters peace and unity on our planet.
